about buck

Buck Howdy won the 2010 Grammy Award for the Best Spoken Word Album for Children. He is a four-time Grammy nominee who has performed at the Grand Ole Opry and the White House as well as in hundreds of venues from coast to coast.

His Emmy Award winning music videos have aired on Nickelodeon and he has nine award-winning family CDs, Skidaddle!Carols by Campfire, Giddyup!, Chickens!Around the Campfire, Pete Seeger Tribute, his Grammy Award winner Aaaaah! Spooky Scary Stories & Songs, American Dreams and All American Campfire Stories all of which have earned him a place in the pantheon of artists creating hip recordings that appeal across the generations.

Buck was born wearing a cowboy hat and boots and was raised on his family's ranch in Grants Pass, Oregon. Between going to school and doing chores, like feeding 100 head of black Angus cattle, Buck taught himself to play guitar. And though the ranch was sold long ago, Buck has never stopped playing. Matter of fact, he's never stopped doing chores either. Only now he does them on his own spread (Buttercup Farm) in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.

Roy Rogers may have ridden off into the sunset but kids who want a rootin’ tootin’ good time can turn to Buck Howdy.
