about buck
Buck Howdy won the 2010 Grammy Award for the Best Spoken Word Album for Children. He is a four-time Grammy nominee who has performed at the Grand Ole Opry and the White House as well as in hundreds of venues from coast to coast.
His Emmy Award winning music videos have aired on Nickelodeon and he has nine award-winning family CDs, Skidaddle!, Carols by Campfire, Giddyup!, Chickens!, Around the Campfire, Pete Seeger Tribute, his Grammy Award winner Aaaaah! Spooky Scary Stories & Songs, American Dreams and All American Campfire Stories all of which have earned him a place in the pantheon of artists creating hip recordings that appeal across the generations.
Buck was born wearing a cowboy hat and boots and was raised on his family's ranch in Grants Pass, Oregon. Between going to school and doing chores, like feeding 100 head of black Angus cattle, Buck taught himself to play guitar. And though the ranch was sold long ago, Buck has never stopped playing. Matter of fact, he's never stopped doing chores either. Only now he does them on his own spread (Buttercup Farm) in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.

Buck Howdy is kind of like your big brother's wisecracking friend or your favorite "fun" uncle -- you know, the one with the water-squirting ring and the whoopee cushion. He performs perfectly authentic cowboy music with kid-friendly lyrics, delivered with a toothy grin and a mischievous wink.
